Ratgdo Needs Physical Reboot After Power Outage

Has anyone else run into the issue where Ratgdo garage openers aren’t connecting to HA after a power outage? It seems like it gives up after it can’t connect to wifi and doesn’t try again until its physically reset.

I have v2.50 hardware with firmware 2.59 running over MQTT.

I know I can solve this with a smart plug that can power cycle it, but I’d rather avoid another device if possible. I also can’t seem to find a way for HA to tell me it isn’t receiving updates from the ratgdo device, so I can’t trigger an automation based on it not sending those updates.

I have two RATGDOs. Not seeing this issue. They are both hardware 2.5i.

When power is restored here, they both start up at the same time as the wireless router. Of course, the router takes longer to boot. The RATGDOs I have retry enough to catch up and connect.

I flashed with esphome and connect via api.

No issues after 2 maybe 3yrs
Not even a flicker
I get several power outages a year

Have you looked at logs to see what is occurring when they stop working? Mqtt/ratgdo/HA . You must check all three when this issue occur

MQTT logs are empty when the power/wifi come back. I just see MQTT starting up successfully. The ratgdo device only tries to connect after i manually unplug it and plug it back in a few hours later.

Ratgdo logs are 100% empty until the unplug and replug.

HA Core logs show nothing related to MQTT or ratgdo…its just some stuff timing out initially that finally starts up within about 2 minutes of HA fully booting up and connecting to the network.
