Yes, the RGB and white temp set weird colors when setting them from HASS, thats on a RGBW strip. I also have RGB+CCT and just CCT strips that have issues. From my basic searching, it was from HASS and WLED devs not agreeing on things, which turned things sour, and now no one wants to fix or manage the translation from/to WLED/HASS (maybe im wrong about this?).
Ill try tackling it next week as I am porting my standalone MQTT project over to a HASS add-on this weekend.
I’ve also been experiencing this issue with my RGB+CCT WLED lights in Home Assistant. I thought I was crazy as I’d search every so often to see if anyone else was having the problem and not really find anything. In order to properly use the white LEDs, every time I rebooted HA or the WLEDs, I’d have to go into the WLED interface, turn off the colour brightness, up the white brightness, and then I could control things in HA.
What I’ve just now done which will fix my main use case that was broken; is I’ve setup presets in WLED, and then calling them from the select action in Home Assistant - which then bypasses HA erroneously interacting with the RGB+CCT of WLED and leaving it to do its thing.
I’m hoping y’all figure out what’s wrong. I’m happy to help test and look over anything you find.
Has anyone had any luck with WLED or has anyone tried tasmota as it supports RGBCCT and the tasmota integration states “RGB lights with Color Temperature control and RGB lights with White control are supported.”
I’m in the process of planning some lighting and don’t want to end up with these issues
I just put basically “burned” that money and put all my LEDs in the basement. I gave up on the project because it’d be too much of a hassle to fix it when the software is busted .
Next time I start a project like this, I’ll test it in Home Assistant first with a smaller purchase without going full-on in expecting everything to work outta the box.
