Re-interview and rebuild routes don't work

I have a battery operated z-wave device, and the battery died and it took me a few days to replace it. Now it’s not recognized by HA and the re-interview button doesn’t do anything, and the rebuild routes just circles. Is there anything I can do short of deleting and re-adding it?

When you re-interview a battery device you need to wake it up to start the process, “wake up” is done according to the instructions in the manual. Usually it’s the same process as inclusion (e.g. 3 button presses) but not always.
