Hello, I was using android 12 phone and using the home assistant app with it and already set some automations with notification scripts which were working fine.
Yesterday I bought a new phone and (android 15) and installede the HA on it…
Now I can see both devices on HA under devices… But When I trigger an automation (even from developers menu by selecting new phone) I receive notifications on old phone. I restarted HA but still all notifications send to old phone. I tried notification as notification_mobile_app_newphone or the device id… result is same.
I have the same issue and it is driving me insane. Even after logging out on my old phone and deleting the device in HA and restarting multiple times, I still cannot get notifications on my new phone. Now I just don’t get them anywhere.
Older posts recommend resetting the push id but I don’t seem to have that.
Have you figured it out?
Okay, I did some more trial and error. Websocket based notifications work so I turned my attention to the Google based push notifications. And those searches finally yielded results.
Turns out either the Google service used by HA to send pushes or the HA app cannot handle the Android app migration when setting up your phone. Unfortunately there is no way to manually reset the push id in the app anymore so the only solution is to clear all data for the HA app, then uninstall and reinstall the app.
