I’m looking for a high-quality flush-mount video doorbell with full Home Assistant integration. What’s important to me are video and audio notifications on phone and tablet, live camera stream, and solid build quality for outdoor use.
I’ll control the door opener separately via a Shelly or some from inside.
Does anyone have experience with high-quality video doorbells in Home Assistant? How well does the integration work, especially for doorbell events as triggers, video stream on dashboards, and push notifications with snapshots?
I’d be very grateful for tips and experience reports!
connect doorbell button to esp device, you can use same esp device w/relay to control your doorbell or you may get iot type doorbell. Another option for doorbell is amp/speaker or ha voice device to anounce arrival or play doorbell sounds (if you have many you may broadcast doorbell on them all)
for the camera you can use standard camera mounted to view doorbell.
I always prefer this method as i dont like how video doorbell look but my outdoor camera always cover walkup to home and I always mount camera with direct view of person / people standing at door.
