I‘m looking for an smart thermostat with an eInk screen. The device should be powered by regular AA(A)-batteries and have a battery life of at least one year.
Are there any go too sensors I should consider? Or maybe look for one of those sensor that can be flashed with an alternative firmware to improve battery life?
AAA batteries only might be limiting the selection quite a bit.
I understand the desire to avoid those rare battery types, but AA battery powered ones increase the selection somewhat and go a long way to reach one year battery life time.
Good point! AA would also be an option, of course. I‘m just trying to avoid those „uncommon“ types, which I can‘t just buy a my local grocery store.
