Hi all,
after looking through previous threats I have come up empty handed. I am planning to equip a new apartment with smart home compatible devices.
In particular I have been looking into solution for HA-compatible wall sockets. I would like to have them smart home native and prefer them to work with either ZigBee or Matter over Thread - in fact this would decide the basis of the rest of my network as it would provide a stable system throughout the apartment.
I have found the following devices (includes some Wifi variants that I would like to avoid to keep my Wifi clear).
| Model | Protocol | Price | Energy Monitoring | Mesh | 55mm |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sonoff Orb Socket | Matter/WiFi | ~21 € | |||
| Eve Energy Outlet | Matter/Thread | ~80–100 € | ? | ||
| BSEED Zigbee | Zigbee (Tuya) | ~25 € | partial | ||
| Aqara H2 EU | Zigbee 3.0 | ~40 € | |||
| Merten MEG2380 | Zigbee 3.0 | ~64 € + frame | |||
| WiFi NoName (Tuya/Tasmota) | WiFi | ~20 € | partial | varies |
Does anyone have any experience with any of these? What would be the general recommendation for having all sockets controllable?
Thanks and cheers,
