Recommendations for smart light bulbs that just work with HA 2026

I’ve looked at similar posts.
Would anyone recommend a smart bulb that just works with HA without problems , be nice if it was a B22 type. . And of course doesn’t cost the earth . just need something that can be set to a lower lumen output in the early hours of the morning

I like the basic Mows ones. the colors are pretty basic but for white they are cheap and effective.

I recently settled on the IKEA smart bulbs.. They are super cheap and work straight out of the box as Matter over Thread devices. 80% of my house is Philips Hue but I honestly can’t afford their ridiculous prices anymore.

They also unofficial support ZigBee, but you have to get to zigbee mode.
You have to switch them on/off 12 times :smile:

I will also recommend IKEA Matter (Yellow lid boxes) Light Bulbs.

I didn’t know this! Thank you so much that’s actually so useful. Half my Kitchen lights are Zigbee and then 3 of them are the IKEA bulbs and I had to do some serious shenanigans with groups in order to get them all to operate nicely. Wasn’t the cleanest approach… Any future bulbs I’ll test how well they work on Zigbee

If you want a WiFi bulb the Lifx bulbs work perfectly with HA (Lifx integration or HomeKit) and can be set to a vey low brightness level.

If you use the Lifx integration instead of HomeKit you can set the brightness before turning on the bulb.

I really like Tapo bulbs (and their whole ecosystem of devcies).
They are easy to set up, cheap, and are compatible with H.A.
