Reliable smart plugs

had a few power cuts recently and my eightree matter plugs went offline and I lost their entities. I had to delete them and re add them to get them to work again. anyone suggest more reliable smart plugs? I"m in the UK, not impressed with matter so far so zigbee, z wave, wifi, whatever really

I prefer Shelly.

I recommend you let people know what country you are in and what protocol you prefer.

In the US, for Zigbee, I recommend ThirdReality

For UK, Tasmota are decent

Tasmota somewhere else is different?

I’m in the UK, don’t care what it uses as long as it’s reliable and doesn’t go down if there’s a power cut

I did order one this morning as I noticed the shelly relays I got stayed online

They are generally pretty good. And if you read all the features they offer out of the box, they are one of a kind.

It’s possible that the reason they went permanently offline (until re-paired) is that the power outage mimicked the usual factory reset procedure.

Many times these devices have a specific sequence that causes them to do a factory reset. for example my smart bulbs (the couple that I have) will factory reset if I cut power on and off 5 times within 5 seconds.

I’ve had a few power flickers over the years that caused the bulbs to think that I did the reset procedure because the power went off & on rapidly so they unpaired themselves. So I ended up having to do the pairing procedure to bring them back on line.

I don’t know what your device expects for a factory reset of if that’s even the cause but it’s just something to keep in mind.

My situation is different with regards to power cut situations as I have whole home EPS via my solar & battery/inverter.
I have had issues with tasmota plugs going “unavailable” but that was mostly sorted via the plugs config for sleep mode & deep sleep mode, which are simple commands you put into the console via Web UI
