Remote access with NGINX Proxy Manager

Hi.

I can reach my newly installed Home Assistant installation through my NGINX reverse proxy from outside my LAN, but are having difficulties logging in to the HA Frontend dashboard.

Home Assistant OS is running as a Proxmox VM and the reverse proxy is running as a Docker container on a separate host running Ubuntu Server. SSL cert from Let’s Encrypt. Cloudflare DNS.

This is what happens when visiting https://homeassistant.mydomain.com:

  1. The Home Assistant login page asks for username and password.
  2. I type those in, as well as mark the check box “remember login”.
  3. This sends me to Frontend, and everything is working as it should.
  4. However, when I refresh the page I get redirected to the login page again.
  5. Typing username and password one more time, and the connection is solid. Refreshing the page does not log me out anymore.

Can anyone tell me why I have login twice? I have tested 3 different browsers, and it also happens through the HA iOS app. However, it does not happen when visiting Home Assistant with its internal IP (http://192.168.1.123:8123).
