I have an old irrigation system that uses manual valves, that looks like this:
.
Opening and closing the valve requires about three complete turns.
Does anybody know of some type of device that I can just install on top of that existing valve that would allow me to remote control them. Zwave would be prefered, but anything that works with HASS would be helpful too. I am in the US.
Thanks. Yeah, I saw that one, but as you said, it requires a 1/4 turn valve.
It is possible to change the valve, but I don’t really want to, because it might open a complete new can of worms Do you know any other motorized device that I could put onto that valve?
There are literally hundreds of valve actuators around…google search here ebay has heaps listed.
It really depends on whether you want industrial grade or lesser but also the requirements of your valve and whether you can adapt the actuator to suit your valves? Then there is controlling the actuator from HA to setup. All doable but may require some effort I believe.
