Remove esphome from esp8266?

Hi!

I have a couple of Wemos D1 mini. I have noticed that when I have flashed them with esphome I can no longer upload firmware via arduino IDE or esphomeflasher. The /dev/ttyUSB* port is not available. However I can do OTA updates via esphome.
How can I remove the esphome firmware to be able to use it with the arduino IDE?

Thanks,
Nicklas

There is no reason you cannot use arduino IDE after flashing with esphome.

Output from dmesg when I connect the wemos not flashed with esphome:

[15185.440265] usb 3-1: new full-speed USB device number 8 using ohci-pci
[15185.673745] usb 3-1: New USB device found, idVendor=1a86, idProduct=7523, bcdDevice= 2.54
[15185.673750] usb 3-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=0, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
[15185.673752] usb 3-1: Product: USB2.0-Serial
[15185.676875] ch341 3-1:1.0: ch341-uart converter detected
[15185.700593] usb 3-1: ch341-uart converter now attached to ttyUSB0

When I connect the esphome flashed wemos I get nothing.

esphome does not remove the serial chip from a wemos. Indeed you can still flash a wemos via esphome via serial.

What is your esphome yaml for this device?

You are correct! esphome does not remove the serial chip from the wemos. But something has

I just tried with a new wemos. I can not reproduce the problem with that one. I guess the uart chip is defect on the other one.
Thanks!
