Reolink HA and HK

I’ve heard about Reolink cameras that integrate very well with Home Assistant.

I would like it to add them also into Homekit without the need to use “scripted” and I think I’ve heard it can be done.
But I seem to have understood that not all cameras are directly compatible with HomeAssistant.

Personally I’ve seen the Reolink 3MP (model: E1) or the Reolink 2K (E1 Pro).

Can anyone tell me something about it?

Thanks

Yep, here you go Reolink - Home Assistant

I’m using three E1 Outdoor cameras and the Reolink integration for them.
Sometimes i have to reset one after a power outage, but as they are also accessible via the Reolink cloud, i could always recover them by forcing a restart. I use them daily to check the weather conditions from a distance.

ok… but here they don’t report compatibility with Homekit… the link is very useful and interesting but the second question is missing. that is, if they can be set to make the cameras compatible with Homekit too

Why don’t you want to use Scrypted? It works very well and when using it you get HKSV support too. Ive been very happy with my Reolink cams connected to HA and then Scrypted->HA. Stable and solid.

Are you asking for compatability wirh Homekit (Apple?) ?

yes Cripted is a great way to integrate everything… but it all starts with a concept. I run HA on a Raspberry Pi4 2GB. Everything runs perfectly with lots of automation and I want to keep it that way. Normally I only consume 1.2GB of RAM and I try to keep everything under that configuration. I like optimization and solutions that don’t increase power, cost and heat. It’s not a question of money… but of being able to do things with the means you have.

it must be compatible with HA first of all and the possibility of setting it in such a way that it can also be used with Homekit without adding integrations and more.

it must be native h264 at least have it set as such (so without transcoding, that makes things heavy)

Heads up - you’re gonna have a hard time adding any camera in HA on only 2GB. Chances are you’re gonna have to look at a hardware upgrade in the near future, especially with a 2k camera like the E1 Pro.

with no transcoding there should be no problems… I already tested and ESP32 cam and an Aqara Cam without problem. The problem is that can not add it to HK as I can not set is H264 native.
