Reolink joins Works with Home Assistant

People scrolling though this should be aware Reolink is not on the recommend hardware list in the Frigate docs. Recommended hardware | Frigate

Some models are on the Scrypted recommended list: Camera Recommendations | Scrypted Docs

Oh you don’t say!

This is discussed at length in this thread. Which is now very clear you haven’t read.

Yes we are looking to expand the device numbers over the coming months depending on the rest of our testing schedule.

hello i have all poe reolink cameras and a doorbell camera i was wondering how or if i am able to use home assistant for recording and snapshots or what other people are doing thanks

Please create a support thread in Configuration. Thank you.

I’m not sure if you can confirm what NVR model(s) that they are certifying or not until they’re done?

If you can - a hint would be really appreciated. I was just about to buy some of their kit when I saw the great news about their certification. Now my order is on hold and I’d rather not buy the ‘wrong’ NVR this close(?) to them being fully certified.

TIA

I was really hoping to see a way to get access to the NVR Alarm In/Out (such as on the RLN36).

Super powerful to have built in closed contact I/O in hardware I already own.

Is this on the road map?

Ya, given the individual model “quirks”, Firmware “Quirks” etc etc. we are going to need some clear indication of WHICH specific models / devices work with home assistant not the over all “BRAND” Reolink which has been a mixed bag for many.

I have 4 reolink Cameras in my setup they all work fairly well but not without some quirks.

I am not sure what this certification involves. Works with HA doesn’t imply works with frigate or blueiris or any other nvr solution.

Is there a public roadmap which products are planned for a certification? i was wondering why the wifi and battery doorbell is certified but the poe not? which basically should be the same product?

Are you doing any work on the duo 3 wifi cameras? I love the integration you have just trying to work around all the lag in the video footage. Ive been reading up for months and tried all the different settings but cant get consistant results.

Well I SUSPECT it just means works with the Reolink Integration (sensors and control), however I would HOPE it works with Go2RTC reliably streaming as that is a common component between Home Assistant and Frigate now for WebRTC etc… the Go2RTC dev has noticed many RTSP stream problems in the past with reolink and other cameras.

I just want to take a moment to sincerely thank @starkillerOG, @fwestenberg, and all the other contributors to this wonderful integration. When I was selecting my first home camera in 2023, I selected Reolink because of the quality of this integration, and have been using it ever since.
This represents everything I love about Home Assistant, and its community. I have been in IT for (counts on fingers and toes) 37 years now, and I can say without hesitation that HA is my favorite open-source software in that entire time, and that it represents the type of possibility I remember dreaming about, when the public Internet was in its infancy. I hope you feel proud of your contributions, because I am certainly proud of you all, and that goes for all the maintainers and contributors to this wonderful platform.

Any chance anyone can point me in the right direction. I have the reolink add on up and running. I click on the Fluent feed in Home assistant and my camera pops up and streams smooth and snappy with audio…I create a homekit bridge to get camera into home kit, it appears in homekit and refreshes the snapshot, but when viewing live feed, it just hangs and never loads, only in homekit…home assistant works great…anyone know why? any ideas?

Interesting. I have been using Scrypted to get my Reolink cameras to Homekit via the bridge. I never thought to try directly via the HA integration.

I know that HomeKit cannot use the H265 encoding that Reolink uses for the 4K streams. Are you trying to push the full “clear” stream? If so, try changing the stream on the camera configuration itself (have to go direct to the web interface) to the 2K stream and H264 (I can’t remember if you have to change to this or it’s automatic).

See if that fixes it.

Thank you Reolink, and specially @starkillerOG. Please take a look at the bug that causes delay in 2-way audio through ONVIF in the Video Doorbell POE.

Yes, this is the only really annoying bug with the otherwise very good doorbells. :+1:

It would be grate if they are able to filter a bit more in their cameras logic (with NVR sys.) what’s moving within their field of view.
I became creazy in setting up a blueprint to light-up my lights in the garden using their cameras sensor … The problem is that the lamp light itself for those cameras is “something moving” so that after the first light activation, my garden by night becomes like a disco pub for the whole night lenght.
Yes, nice cameras, nice systems, but still something to improve for them. Maybe You can put some more “pressure” on them in order to solve with it?

Thank you for this great integration. There are several comments about the lack of 2-way audio support. Are there plans to support this in the Reolink integration?
