Replace old HDMI switch Crestron 6x2 for 8x4

Hello all member here,

I’m lucky to get used new Crestron switch HD-MD8X4-4KZ-E at good price to replace my old HD-MD6X2-4K-E because I had had some wierd behavior with it. I think the problem was that I need to add splitter for my tv and projector on same output but not the same edid. With new switch, now I have 4 output instead of 2, all my devices have 1 output avalaible.

For now, I’m very happy, no pink screen, dolby atmos, vision and I get 3d working with my zidoo player (with some custom edid config). Weird, spec tell 3d not supported !

However, I discover that, with the new switch, It will be useful to install new firmware to add priority routing feature.

I think last firmware version is : 2.0.5328.00054

Maybe someone coulpd help ? It does’nt seem so easy to get help from reseller ?

Hey,
Not sure HA forum is best place for Crestron stuff but I can confirm you most recent firnware for MD8X4 is 2.0.5328.00054 (released 02/27/2024 as model is obsolete since a while). What version you have in the device right now ?
How do you plan to control it from HA ? using the official Crestron API ?

I have somethinks like 1.2 version on it.
I’m surprise this model is already obsolete, we are talking about model 4KZ, the « z » is important but, yes possible.

API, web page or with old ir harmony remote to relay. It depend of interface used,with only 8 channels; 6 inputs, 2 outputs is not so bad.
