i have a solar inverter (SMA) which I integrated in HA just fine.
But now it’s being replaced by another one (also SMA).
I’m afraid that deleting the old one will probably also delete the info and history of the old inverter.
Anyone has advice on how to proceed?
I also prefer having no errors on old inverter nog being reachable anymore
I added my solar panels to my HA test environment. After some data is collected in the energy dashboard I will delete it to see if the history is kept or not.
I have a different experience. Deleting an integration with the entities of the old inverter completely wiped all history of the solar production related to that entity.
Tried the suggestion, changing the name/entity id - no luck, keeps indicating the old id is in use even after I renamed the original entity.
@mpi were you successful? If so which steps did you take and in what order?
Eg. Same issue here, ha continues to seek the old inverter (which is offline) - so keeping both on the dashboard is no solution in the case.
I do know that In 2023.4.1 the DB changed to allow you to rename an enitty_id without losing the history, I don’t understand the change yet, but it would not be surprising the existing tricks that used to work don’t any more.
