This is strange, have an aqara door sensor, it kept dropping out so replaced it with one of the new Ikea ones with the AAA batteries and now that drops out, but the old one does not, what the heck? LOL
Anyone seen anything like that before? I’m very confused lol
Hardly enough information to begin an educated guess.
You don’t say which protocol, but Aqara and Ikea tend to use Zigbee, let’s start the twenty-questions there.
What is your Home Assistant host computer?
How far are the sensors from the nearest router or hub?
What Zigbee gateway are you using? (ZHA or MQTT2Zigbee?)
What Zigbee coordinator are you using?
Thanks guys, I considered some of those things above as a given considering we are in the zigbee section But I should have said ZHA
The coordinator is Ethernet Tubz CC2652-P2 recently updated the firmware for it with no change in connectivity. The HA server itself is a Proxmox cluster running on some trash cans (Mac Pros) more then enough. No issues in performance there.
So more context, I just added another door sensor on the same door, everything matches up in terms of open and closed, as you can see in the screen shot. its just the one actually in use for automations drops off periodically. This also happened before and why I added the new one.
As crazy as it sounds, the one being used for automations (Node Red) drops off, the one no longer being used (name change to _old does not drop off) And I posted on the off chance that someone might have seen similar behavior before ie Oh yeah, Zigbee and Node Red do this funny thing sometimes, change X stops it
