Replacing a phone in Private BLE/Bermuda

I just switched from ESPresense to Bermuda for phone presence and I have it all working - no problem. We use iPhones in this house, and my wife is getting a new phone this weekend which has me wondering: how do I replace her Private BLE entry with the new phones IRK and keep it associated to the entities? Surely I’m not the first to run into this but I see no way to do this in the UI, and while I’m fine performing surgery under the hood, is that even a viable way to do this?

Or, maybe it’s a Bermuda issue to solve after adding the new IRK in Private BLE? It’s unclear and I haven’t found it documented so far.

Looking for any guidance ya’ll can offer! TIA

Mobile integration first:

Name the new phone the same as the old phone.

Delete the existing mobile integration and add the new phone. If the names are the same the new entities should match the old.

As for private ble, delete the existing tracker and go through the process of adding the new phone’s irk. You will need to rename the new tracker entity id to match the old one so make a note of the entity id before deleting it.

Assuming you have only used entity ids in your automations and scripts and not device ids you should be good to go.

Thanks for the feedback. It would be a restored iphone database so the hostname should remain. When you say " Delete the existing mobile integration" could you be more specific?

I think what you’re saying is,
-lose the old phone,

-collect the entity ID’s it was using (such as for area, tracker, etc…),

-delete the IRK from Private BLE (I’ll have to see how to do this),

-delete the old device from Bermuda,

-capture new IRK,

-get it in Bermuda then change the entity ID’s to what they were if they are different.

Does that sound about right?

Settings → devices & services → mobile app → delete the phone.
