REQ: Reliable blind motor either Zigbee or Z-Wave wifi as a last option

I currently have an Axis Gear that is very old, and the MFG refuses to send me the updated Zigbee FW to resolve a sleeping issue bug with the initial FW.

So, I’m tossing that in the trash and moving on to something that actually works.

Looking for recommendations for a chain-driven window shade that works reliably with HAOS.

I’ve looked at replacing it with the Fyutur blackout shades, but the size I need is only available in the UK. For some reason, they top out at 48" wide in North America, and I need 56".

I’ve seen the Shelly cover controller, which piqued my interest, but I have no idea how that would be integrated into a homegrown solution. I’m not afraid of building something out myself, but some advice on what parts I would need to pull it off would be appreciated. I suspect it would be a combo of an ESP with a stepper motor.

Aside from a homegrown approach, are there any recommendations for a dependable ready-made solution?

I have 2 of the Aqara Roller Shade Driver E1. They work well for me.

thanks for that. I did a search and can’t find these available anywhere!!

I can see them on Amazon in the UK.
