I have home assistant installed on a virtual machine

I am trying to reserve an ip address for Hass io on my router
The problem is that home assistant shows same mac adress as the pc
And when i used it , the ip adress was reserved for the pc

Also when i scanned the devices on the network using on application, home assistant shows with a different mac address, i used it, but nothing happened and it didn’t move to the picked ip adress

Any advice on that

Where is hassio running? Virtual machine, pi, other?

It is running on virtual machine

Already said.
I would like to know how, VBox, Hyper-V, …?
There should be options to change the MAC for a VM.

Yes i saw something like that
And tried to change it and use that mac , but the router looks like it doesn’t recognize that mac adress and always see the homeassistant on my pc mac

What sort of network are you using in vbox? bridged? NAT?
