Something threw a spanner in my Z2M set up on HA and I need to reset the dongle and start from scratch so I can be sure I’m not missing anything (removing and reinstalling just the add-ons did not fix the issue).
However, there’s no guide anywhere on which buttons to press to reset the device? I opened it up and there’s 1 toggle switch and 2 buttons that can be pressed. Long pressing either or both does nothing (light doesn’t flash or anything). Not sure what the toggle does either.
Is there a way to definitively know I’ve rebooted the dongle so I can try again as if it were fresh out of the box?
Thank you!
Perhaps it’s easier to describe your issue. Although these dongles (or rather, the CC2652R chip on them) have some flash memory, I doubt that any coordinator implementations actually use it, so unless you flashed the device with a particular firmware that it didn’t come with, the device should be “factory fresh” the moment you power it up.
Thank u for this. This needs to be more available online, I say. I really appreciate it
I believe there was something glitching the firmware itself and I needed to start it up from scratch without it retaining any memory of the current instance. Turns out I was right.
After spending a whole day on this, I finally found a way to reflash it on an M1 Mac system. A lot of the guides were windows based.
