Restore Backup from RPI with external Drive to Proxmox VM

Hi,
Currently I am using an RPI 4 with only 2GB RAM, some days the RPI will reboot more than 5-times per day, presumably the RAM will overflow, I never found out why.
I am using an external SSD for the HomeAssistant OS.
I tried to Restore the Backup on my Proxmox VM, but after that I got read error on my Proxmox, I never tried to connect the ssd to my Proxmox.

is there anyone with experience to move the Homeassistant from RPI with external Drive to an Proxmox VM?

Trying to understand the question.
*You have HA running in Proxmox
*You have an external SSD with the Pi 4 version of HA OS
Do you want to attach the SDD to the HA instance on Proxmox ?

If I am using the backup from the RPI to restore this on the Proxmox HA VM, if I started the restore of my Backup I see in the Logs io read error, see attachment.

If you see i/o errors on your Proxmox vm, you would better reinstall it. These are errors that point to defects on the disk the VM is installed on.

everytime if i start the restore of my backup I got these error

Of cause. You want to restore a backup to a VM with a faulty disk. First job is to have a good running VM, then you can do a restore.

the VM is running normally, I can setup the home assistant in the VM but if I start the restore I got these error. Is it possible the reason why I got errors is that I used an external drive on my raspberry pi and not the sd card ?

Is the proxmox running on your Pi ?

no its running on an x64 system, i want move my rpi setup to an vm setup

@francisp I tried two ways, first way upload Backup for restore on VM → IO error
I mount my backup network drive into the new Home assistant(VM instance) started backup → IOERROR

Make a new HA VM and try on that. You current HA VM has problems with the disk.

You keep thinking the problem is with your backup file, it is not. The problem is with your HA VM.
