Trying to restore from an automated backup of 2025.12.2 I made a few hours ago, and the UI has been stuck on “Restarting Home Assistant” for about 30 minutes now. I tried a manual reboot, but that seems to leave me at the pre-restored state. Is there a way to determine if something is actually happening, or if there are errors? A log to tail, perhaps? I’m running HAOS.
What hardware are you running on? Any chance your backup is bloated with audio or video files, or a large recorder database?
The last time I did a restore from backup it seemed to be stuck on the same page for ages. I left it for about an hour, came back to it, still on the same page…until I refreshed the browser and the restore had actually only take about 10 minutes, it was just the browser page that needed refreshing.

Even when one is installing something, coming back several times, and still saying “Installing” with a spinning cock-wheel. Eventually thinking … ahhh f… that, and then just per reflect click hit refresh.

Updates have been enhanced now to show a progress bar, the same would be helpful for backup and restore also.
