Restore from full backup - networking

I’m going to move from a Rpi4 to a VM inside Proxmox.
The current Pi is on DHCP and then reserved on DHCP server.
I’ve build the new VM HAOS ready for restore, I can set that statically to the same as the Pi was.
When you do a restore is this setting wiped out and it reverts to ‘DHCP’ and then will get a new address that I’ll have to go back in and tweak?
Wondering if I need to cut it off the network until I change it.

The address should restore with it if you set a static address. Although you could leave it at DHCP so your rPi is also up at the same time in case you need to transfer something.

Ok thanks.
Thinking about it I might set it as static now, Create a backup with that change then when I restore it’ll be static and good from the start.
I can remove the DHCP reservation and we’re good to re use the Pi on a different IP, I’m hoping it goes smoothly and I don’t need it back on.
I hope to turn it into a controller for Matrix LED board(s)

The restore actually took about 20 minutes, the problem was when you first install HA and log on it’s using HTTP but my system is set to HTTPS so I was there refreshing a dead link…
