Restore HA but not with existing core version

I have a problem that I can’t uppdate HA core. I’m currentry on v2024.10.4 and I can’t update.

So I made a clean install and then a restore of all. But then I’m back on core 2024.10.4

Is it possible to restore without include the old core version?

Hello Anders Ohlson,

Otherwise, if this isn’t working in the UI, try the CLI version. Both are shown here.

MAnual restore month by month, and fixing/updating integration/add-ons … huge cumbersome and very timeconsuming ( fixing / reading release notes/logs )

So consider what it is you want/need to restored
Fresh install == latest and greatest “aligned” with eachother, OS/CORE/Supervisor, integrations and Add-Ons
As there also have been Changes to Frontend, not even you old Dashboard will not look the same, and you have to fix these also, automation/templates/scripts will “follow the principle” as when you wrote them regardsless if i.e templates was/is legacy-templates etc

For most of your integrations, the “Settings” should be the same ( unless anyone of these has gone through major/breaking changes.
I.E there is no native " Tapo-Integration" it’s now called TP-Link, and for some totally insane reason they have “merged” TAPO & KASA in same, spite the different APPs, and Devices firmware / functionality
HomeKit has also gone through some changes etc.etc etc.

Basically no, if you restored/install manually, month by month, you will reach a point (several times), where you need to upgrade CORE, to upgrade SuperVisor or e.i OS

So actually you don’t have “a problem”, you just “silently” build up a huge pile of problems
( Or workload +10 times more than follow the release notes, atleast for the “Breaking/Major” changes)
