I had my HAOS drive fail and have replaced the drive. Downloaded the last backup make with the google drive backup addon and went to restore it and its asking for a key. I dont remember ever giving it a password or anything like that. I have tried everything i can think of with no luck. Is there anything I’m missing and what even happened? Sucks to feel like i was safe and them just as soon as i need it, this.

Backups going to external sources are encrypted.
If you are using the addon, ha encryption shouldn’t have been applied. I use the addon and just downloaded my most recent backup. I wanted to see if mine was encrypted, it’s not.
There is an option in the addon that lets you add a password to the backup. If you have passwords that you often use, try them. Also in the rare chance that your browsers password manager grabbed it. Look in the PM for your_ha_ip:8123/cebe7a76_hassio_google_drive_backup/ingress
