So I kind of jumped the gun on this, I’m trying to replace Nest Aware. (I know buy a new camera is the right answer)
I have my ffmpeg camera set to record a clip every time it sees motion or a person.
This is working fine, it dumps it into a folder under /Share.
My question is, does anybody have a method of reviewing these clips aside from accessing the network volume and looking at the time stamps.
I’d like a solution that I could view the clips on my mobile as well as computer.
I imagine some container outside of the community add-ons might be able to index these files and present them in a nice web format, I’m just not sure where to start looking.
Now I’m getting this and it stopped working.
My unwillingness to admit I made a bad call on my nest purchase publicly is really costing me more hours than a Hikvision camera.
I use motioneye + HA doods integration (object detection)
I view all my captured images in motioneye.
I have doods object detection look every 1-3sec and drop these images into the motioneye folder of the respective camera as /CamName/yy-mm-dd/camname_yy-mm-dd-hh-mm-ss.jpg
Motioneye does motion record for same cameras + takes image each 1hr(this creates needed date named folders for doods to place date named images)
I use iframe to display motioneye webpage in HA. This actually loads faster(approx 7sec on cellular) than ffmpeg camera and provides live view (5fps based on motioneye setting) of all (8)vcameras. Also allows me to view all camera image/video and download as needed from HA frontend.
Motioneye handles removal of video/images based on the retain settings
for the record motioneye loads captured video/images slow for me but this may be hardware. This is minor issue since I not looking at “not live” image often. I am looking at using Shinobi or Zoneminder to compare since I do know these load captured imaged/video better but not sure if I can just drop images in their folder for viewing
Had RING and it was useless for me so this is amazing since i have HA set to provide push notification w/image based on outside beam or doorbell push. Also image load time is faster this way. Ring was about 15sec live view. I always missed people.
