Hello,
For some time I have smoke detectors of Flamingo FA 21 RF installed at home. I also have an RFXCOM device linked to my Home Assistant. I mainly used this for my 433Mhz temperature sensors and some KAKU devices (Phasing out).
However I’ve been struggling for a long time getting an automation going on my smoke detectors. Since they only send out the “Panic” state over 433Mhz and never an “OK” signal. In the past it had worked with the “Fire Event” option. But for some reason that does not seem to work anymore for some time.
I also tried the off delay option, but still the state of my sensor stays on Panic all the time. I also noted that normally a smoke detector would be marked as a “Binary_sensor” but in my case it is identified as a “sensor”.
Below a screenshot of my current settings in the RFXcom integration:
Basically I just used the RFXCom device on USB (rfxtrx433e or simular) and triggered one of the smoke detectors. Then they send out a message which is picked up by the RFXCom device on 433 mhz. I’m not sure if it automatically showed up or if I had to monitor any event or something.
But do you already have the RFXcom device?
By the way, I didn’t really get this issue that I raised in this topic fixed. So I did some tests by using the rfxtrx_event event. But that was a bit more complex to get to work 100% full proof and not trigger on any other 433mhz devices that I have.
