When I open the Roku Integration it does not find any of the TVs. It ask for the Host IP. When I enter the correct IP I get the Failed to Connect Error. I have done the settings in the Roku TV fix → Settings → System → Advanced system settings → Control by mobile apps → Network access
Still unable to connect.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
Hello Corbetsparks,
This help?
Thanks for the reply. I have already done that, and it did not help. I am unable to ping the Roku ip address for some reason. I think that may be the issue. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
Hi @Corbet ! I had an issue connecting my first Roku to Home Assistant, and I followed the same steps, but I wasn’t having any luck. I tried using both ethernet and WiFi, using the hostname and the IP, changing to Static IP, but nothing was working. Then I tried another Roku that I got when traveling and was able to immediately connect it (WiFi). I realized the reason the second one worked is because I never changed the settings to “limited” or “permissive” access, along with a couple of other privacy settings. I changed the first Roku to “enabled”, made sure nothing else would restrict access, restarted the device, and was immediately able to add it to HA (wired). I did try to go back to limited or permissive, but some features were not available, which I’m okay with temporarily. I know you already went to those settings, but I didn’t think that “limited” or “permissive” would be a deal breaker for HA, but it seems to be, so if you are like me then that might be the issue. I hope that helps. If not, can you include what privacy/security settings, if any you have enabled? It could be helpful to know if any of the settings are not standard.
