RP5 vs HA vs Conbee 3 vs ZHA

Hello,

I’m seeking assistance with my setup. I have an older Raspberry Pi 4 (RP4) with a Conbee 2 stick using ZHA, managing approximately 40 Zigbee devices that function correctly. Recently, I transitioned to a new Raspberry Pi 5 (RP5) and acquired a Conbee 3 stick, also set up through ZHA. However, I’m encountering issues with my crucial Aqara FP1 sensors on the new setup (RP5 + Conbee 3); they fail to pair. The initialization process concludes in a ‘completed’ state, indicated by a blue status, but it doesn’t finalize as expected (which typically shows green when pairing via ZHA). Even when listed in ZHA, the FP1 doesn’t detect any movements or state changes.

Currently, both RP4 and RP5 are operational at home. I read that simultaneous networks might interfere with each other, so I attempted to pair the FP1 after shutting down the RP4 with Conbee 2, but the outcome remained unchanged. I also updated the Conbee 3 to the latest firmware: 0x26530900. Interestingly, some devices—about 15—connected through Conbee 3 are functioning, yet ZHA displays ‘LQI: Unknown’ and ‘RSSI: Unknown’ for them.

I’m quite disappointed, as I anticipated a smoother transition to the new setup. Do you have any suggestions on what I might try to resolve these issues? I appreciate any assistance.

Thank you.

Please or is here someone, who has similiar configuration RP4, Conbee 3, ZHA and Aquara FP1 works? thx

Things to try (if possible):

  • use your Conbee II on the RPi5 to see if that does work
  • use an extension cable between the RPi5 and the Conbee to prevent USB 3 interference

Thx. I will try, but i bought Conbee III because better device connection and hoped, that i will use it. :frowning:

Conbee III has an EFR32 Zigbee SoC. Even though they work for many people, I’m not a big fan of that chip.
