Russound RIO integrations - additional commands for Loudness and others & wallpanel integration

Hello,
as there are some people still using Russound devices I wonder if someone could help to implement the Loudness command?

And one final question, are the wallpanels like MDK-C6 or C5 also implemented? I would like to see the music title on the wallpanels as well - if that would be possible. Any ideas how to realize?

Hi @heidle78,

I’m adding the loudness control as a service call (action) in the May release. More info to follow once the PR is merged.

There is no way to control the metadata on the wallpanels from Home Assistant (or using the Russound RIO standard for that matter). They strictly mirror what the Russound box knows to be true. They will only display music info if you use a Russound streamer (whether integral like the MCA-88X, or something like the MBX-PRE with a Russound MCA-C3/C5) or built-in tuner.

Thanks a lot - that is great.
With the wallpanels is really stupid, I have six in the house and I´m tired of them. I guess I will remove them all and put some DIY touchpanels in, then I´m more flexible and can create my “own” dashboard.

I used some years ago another software called JRiver Mediacenter (JRiver Media Center software) and there I was using a plugin for Russound which could mirror the information from the software to the wallpanels - that was really awesome

I have the MCA-C5 with certain keypads. When I start a Russound zone using an automation the keypads always show “Press OK to Begin.” Is there any way I can dismiss this via Home Assistant? It was always like that, but after the years I thought to get rif of it with a kind of tweak. Anybody has a similar problem or anybody with a solution of it - without going to the keypad and press “OK”

No unfortunately. There is no control of the keypads from the Russound RIO API.

Thanks for your feedback - at least it stops my activities around that solution, more time for other things
