Samba shares not mounting from ubuntu 18.04 after samba addon upgrade yesterday

I upgraded the samba addon yesterday. Since then my Ubuntu 18.04 systems have been unable to mount hassio shares. The line in /etc/fstab is:

//xxx.xxx.x.xx/config /media/hassio cifs vers=2.0,vers=3.0,vers=1.0,credentials=/root/creds_file

I get:

mount error(95): operation not supported
Refer to mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

No such error prior to yesterday’s upgrade of samba addon.

I am still able to mount the share fro windows 10.

dmesg | grep cifs

provides no additional data just says return code = -95

hey @bturrie , try to remove vers=2.0 and vers=1.0 parameters
e.g. keep only vers=3.0

Thanks, That worked!

Hello,
I am also experiencing problems with Samba. Can you please tell me where I go to remove vers=2.0 and vers=1.0?

Thank you

This solution is specific to viewing the Samba share from a Linux machine. On an Ubuntu or other Debian based Linux machine vers=1.0 and vers=2.0 appear on the line that tells the system where to mount a Samba share. It’s in the file /etc/fstab.

Tha k hoy for the clarification!
