Schlage Encode Plus - control from Home Assistant

I have added a Schlage Encode Plus to Home Assistant via bluetooth and it is now connected to my thread border router and shows up in Home Assistant as a HomeKit device. I can see the battery level, and the lock/unlock status. There is also a control for lock/unlock, but actuating it doesn’t actually physically move the lock. The lock/unlock status does work, and updates almost real time.

Are the only functions supported on the Encode Plus through Home Assistant just monitoring? Should it be able to actually actuate the lock?

Ideally I would like to be able to control access codes. Is that possible? I can’t find any documentation on which features are supported. I did find that HomeKey is not supported, which is fine.

Isn’t the Schlage Encode Plus a wi-fi device? The integration page lists it as “cloud polling”, so it may well be that only monitoring is available via Bluetooth.

The Encode Plus does have wifi, but mine is not connected to wifi. The integration you linked I believe is using the Schlage cloud API that the Schlage phone app uses. The Encode Plus also supports thread and HomeKit, which is how I currently have it connected. I couldn’t find anything on what functionality is expected with HomeKit and thread though.

I do not want to have to rely on any cloud connections.
