Search in Automations Always worked perfectly - Stopped working recently

Hey guys

Just wondering if anyone else is getting these problems.
I’ve always been incredibly anal about my automation names; that they follow a standard pattern and have the same keywords for triggers/actions that are shared across different automations. This always made searching for similar/related automations nice and easy

About 2 or 3 weeks ago (sorry I’ve been on holiday) the Search by automation name stopped working for me. It works on the first few words in the alias, but not on the entire alias anymore.

For example
alias: System <> Home Assistant 11b - Bruce iPhone Not Home (x4 All) (Template Sensor) = Boolean Bruce Away On

If I search “Home Assistant 11b” it works
If I search “Home Assistant 11b - Br” it does not work
If I search “Bruce iPhone” it does not work
If I search “Bruce Away” it does not work
If I export my automations.yaml into a txt or xls file, I can search just fine for anything I want

I’ve obviously checked and I have NO FILTERS set

  • Installation method Home Assistant OS
  • Core 2025.11.1
  • Supervisor 2025.11.2
  • Operating System 16.3
  • Frontend 20251105.0

Thankyou for taking the time to reply
It’s nice to know this is being tracked and I’m not the only one

I am having a similar problem with search in automations.

I was trying to search for motion-based automations.

I have a total of 136 automations. Not all of them are motion-based.

When I type “motion”, it matches all 136.

If I type “mot”, it matches the motion-based automations, but also an unwanted automation containing the word “remote”.

Once I type the fourth character - i - making it a “moti” query, then all 136 automations match.

Using core + supervisor, 2025.11.2 and frontend 20251105.0 .
