Dear freands,
I am searching for a while after a good, HA compatible MATTER / MQTT Zigbee-Bridge. I found a very well explored website (Supported Adapters | Zigbee2MQTT) but it is difficult: The most devices of my selection are:
a. very expensive (+ customs fees)
b. not available at the moment
c. “handmade”
I’m just looking for a gypsy bridge that I can screw to the wall next to my wifi access point (preferably with antenna because big house) and plug into my network socket (PoE).
Or as an emergency solution just a standalone bridge with power supply that I can then plug via LAN cable to the network. Probably this would still be necessary if I want to expand to basements and other floors (unless the repeater function really works reliably even through German concrete ceilings).
Even devices like “Samsung Aeotec Smart Home Hub” does not seem to be able to plug directly into the LAN.
If you have a tip, please share it with me. It doesn’t have to be a Porsche as a solution, but it can be an Audi
The primary goal would be to connect door and window sensors in a first step. In a second step, motion sensors. (And then of course to integrate everything in Homeassistant!) If you also have good tips on this regarding models and sources of supply: Very happy with it, buying advice is gladly accepted.
Thank you very much and have a nice evening, Franz
PS: No, not a stick or anything like that! My HA runs on a Raspberry Pi in the tech basement. I need a “separate device” which I would place on the 1st floor.
