Security alarm

So I cancelled our Front Point system. I finished my prewire and all ceiling/walls closed up so I can’t run anymore wires. Can anyone recommend a good “smart” security system that uses WiFi. I was thinking maybe SimpliSafe but not too sure. Thanks a lot

Obviously choosing one from here seems the best candidate, however there are other options in the custom component area.

Did you run cables for alarm sensors?

a good “smart” security system that uses WiFi.

You won’t want wifi sensors, surely just wifi to the controller.

I use a Paradox system which is interfaced to HA via a Wemos D1 mini (to basically give the alarm panel MQTT support via WiFi). It has been working great for nearly 2 years.

What do you mean I won’t want WiFi? I didn’t run any cables so I can’t go wired.

I said you won’t want wifi sensors. They are power hungry and not ideal for a security system.

so I thought perhaps you were smart enough to run alarm sensor wiring at this time.

I can’t go wired.

So I’d suggest using z-wave or zigbee sensors directly to Home Assistant and use HA as the alarm system. There are other methods but this one is really good. The GUI panel is no longer available but that is not an issue at all in reality.
