Hello wonderful HA community, long time reader but first time poster. I have just started major renovations on my home in Ireland and seeking advice/feedback please.
- Been using HA for about a year.
- Had good experience with ZigBee but also interested in ZWave. Not as keen on Matter although I own some IKEA devices.
- Unifi network and TrueNAS homelab. Plan on running lots of cat 6a.
- Full rewiring.
- Aiming for Local only, mother in law compatible approach, not ultra expensive (already paying Strait of Hormuz prices for the build)
Leaning toward (or suggested by architect):
- Viessmann HeatPump and underfloor heating - cloud polling integration =
- GoodWe solar - local polling HA integration
- Vent-Axia MVHR - promising looking local HACs integration
- zooz zwave light switches with dumb dimmable LEDs (any gotchas here?)
- LED light strips for kitchen counters?
- Presense sensors for light automations (2 years battery so no POE?)
- Smart lock (considering Unifi offering)
- Smart wings motorised blinds? (Seem best for price and local connectivity options)
- Motorised Velux
- Unifi doorbell and cameras (reolink to cut costs?)
- Alarmo over traditional alarm system?
- Considering aircon but not investigated options.
- Any benefit to adding something like the Shelly Pro EM to my fuse box or best to get data from solar inverter/smart meter?
- Thoughts on smart outlets? Considering at least one for washing machine to send notifications on cycle completion. Maybe another for devices with vampire power drain.
