Seeking Alternatives to Home Assistant Hyperion Integration for Ambient Lighting on External Monitor for Movies Immersion on Linux

Hi all,

I’m currently using a Lenovo Legion S7 16IAH7 laptop with Hyperion for ambient lighting, connected to a Dell Alienware AW3423DWF monitor and Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip (32–34") via Home Assistant and a Zigbee SLZB-06 on a Beelink Mini PC. I am running it on my laptop.

The Hue lights respond to the “identify” command, but live video capture doesn’t function (Wayland)—only a black rectangle appears. Switching to X11 enables capture but disables my second monitor sometimes, and the LEDs remain static (green to white) and don’t react to change of pixels on screen anyway and hyperion crash itself too.

I am checking forums and wait for help: Hyperion 24.04 Ubuntu Connected and Leds are detect but capture screen don't work and leds are constantly white or green and crash after some time Philips light and home assistant. - Software Support - Hyperion-Project Forum

But would prefer some more reliable method on Wayland linux is there anybody how achieve it or some other home assistant integration?

Are there more reliable alternatives to Hyperion that work well with Linux and support multi-monitor setups? Any recommendations for different approaches or tools would be greatly appreciated.
