Hey folks!
I built a custom card that lets you search for movies and TV shows, and request them through the Seerr integration, without leaving your dashboard. Type a title, get a list of matches with type/year and availability status, tap Request, done.
Features
- Live search against your Seerr/Overseerr instance as you type
- One-tap request
- Items already available, pending, or processing are shown as such instead of a clickable button
Requirements
- The built-in Seerr integration, set up and configured (Settings → Devices & Services → Add Integration → Seerr)
- Home Assistant 2026.8 or newer
Installation
It’s not in the default HACS store yet (submission is open and pending review), so for now add it as a custom repository:
- HACS → ⋮ → Custom repositories

Known limitations
- No poster/thumbnail images and no release year for movies — both come from a gap in the underlying
python_overseerrclient library, not the card. I’ve submitted fixes upstream for this; they’re not merged/released yet, so results show a generic icon for now.
