I’m getting ready to set up home assistant and was wondering if there is a way to automatically offload security camera footage to a NAS on my local network? I saw one similar thread from a year ago but it got no traction so I thought I would give it a try. Thanks.
What install method you using?
Many ways to do this
Daily, weekly, etc rsync between nas/ha server
Symlink remote mounted folder and write directly or at timed intervals
Install HA direct to nas
Really depends on hardware you install HA on and preferences

Adding : NAS (always?) seem come with their own camera solution, e.g. surveillance station for synology…
I use the this for 2k+ 24x7 streaming and when I previously had HA on the same NAS, it seemed to be working unpredictable on connect.
When HA on a separate server(nuc/rasp/etc.) then you have the choice to use the cam’s directly from HA or via the NAS…
