Running 2.7.2 Music Assistant and under Players I have all of my Chromecast devices listed (5), but when I try and create a group in Settings / Player section to put them all into one group under Sendspin it only list my "Web (Chrome on Windows) device and non of my Chromecast device?
Does chrome cast show as send spin?
If you create send spin group can you add chrome cast to it?
I found this option that is under generic settings and Enabled it on all of my Chromecast devices but it still will not let me group them all together.
Are you trying to add them to an existing sendspin group?
you need to create a sendspin group and from within the group add the player. Cant tell if that what your are trying to do?
Trying to create a new sendspin group but it just doesn’t list my devices just the two that you see in this screenshot:
try restart music assistant.
if still no good, maybe its the “alpha” label and its still not working well
maybe someone can confirm it work/not work. ![]()
Thanks for trying to help
I have tried restarting MA and HA and no luck. I will hook back up my Sonos units and see if MA lets me group them under Sendspin then I will know if it is a Sendspin issue or a Chromecast issue.
I found a chrome cast the other day
If I get bored I will set it up and see what happens
Never mind

I added my Sonos S1 Connects (3) back into HA and then tried to create a Sendspin Group Player with them and it still just shows me the 2 Web devices. I can of course create a Sonos S1 group just fine in MA but not a Sendspin group.
You need to add the setting in your cast speaker setting then go to speaker icon button thing and press the power button it will then show up, The cast speaker will turn off after use and the sendspin will disappear again until you turn it on.
This is what it was like when I tried but that was the beta version.
Maybe that is what I need to try… the best version of MA ![]()
Sendspin is implemented in the stable version now. I have not tried Google cast stuff as I don’t use them anymore. But until the speaker is powered on sendspin did not show a player. Click the speaker icon in the bottom right. Find your speaker and press the power button.
Got it working! Thx Arh! It was that Power on thing you mentioned that got me looking in the right direction. That is probably a bit confusing for average user to have to do that in order to get it to work properly but it is still a work in progress I guess. Now to test it out for a while and see how it works before I put my old Sonos Connects up for sale.
Good, got there in the end. My old brain could not quite remember what I did a few weeks back. Hopefully others will read this and get it working.
It does have a lot of cool features but it is definitely not ready to replace Sonos, especially with syncing the music thru out all the zones but I am sure it will only get better over time. I will have to try and manually sync the zones with the Sendspin sync delay option in the player section and also try and figure out why it somestimes just stops playing music even when only one device is selected and playing. MA is one big onion with so many layers it is easy to get lost! ![]()
After spend more than 24 hour playing with the settings and digging deeper into all that MA can do I have changed my mind. I believe it could replace Sonos but you have to put the time in to adjust all the Player zones to get the Sync just right and also there is the Power button and getting the Player zones to power on to show up in the Sendspin group. But I now have just about everything working the way it should and even added my Samsung S23+ to the Sendspin group and that lets me listed through my earpods the same music that is playing all thru the house. The main problem is currently is stability with Sendspin but it is in Alpha so hopefully they can workout the bugs soon. ![]()
