I’m not sure if this is a bug on HA’s side or on the device itself.
I purchased a Sengled Zigbee Smart Light Bulb and installed it today. I created an automation to set the brightness to 255 when Sonoff push button is pressed. Doing so, however, does NOT work. The brightness does not change at all. I replicated this issue manually on the devices page when pulling up the device.
However, if I set the brightness to 254, it works perfectly and as expected.
This isn’t a quirk of automation, because if I set the brightness level to 5, turn off the light, then set the brightness level to 255, turn on the light, it does the same thing. 254 appears to be the highest acceptable brightness level on this device.
So… I’m not sure if maybe the Sengled device is starting the brightness integer at 1, whereas home assistant is starting the brightness integer 0? Just a guess.
I can work around it for now, but thought I’d at least get the conversation going to let others know about this quirk.
