I’m running two Zigbee networks at the moment. ZHA over skyconnect and z2M over Sonoff, due to some technical problems that I’ve been having, which I thought I might be able to fix by changing from ZHA to Z2m (conversion for another thread).
Given this, I’ve split my repeated up between the two networks.
Ideally I’d like everything to connect to a repeater which then connects directly to a coordinator, but some of my devices are too far away to do it in one hop.
putting the exact signal strength to a side for one moment, as that’s an entirely different can of worms, what is the sensible maximum number of repeaters I should have between any one device and the coordinator when running under “less than ideal circumstances”.
Can I get away with three hops, or four, or doesn’t it matter until half a dozen (again, putting the signal strength aside, just the number of hops)?
