Does anyone have any input on how the sensor.disk_use impacts the life of your hard drives? Is is causing the hard drives to be on/off more often causing them to fail sooner? I am just wondering how this works.
Unless you’ve configured your system to spin the disks down, it’ll have zero impact.
If you have, and that information isn’t cached (it may well be) then it’ll need to spin the disks up, unless something else already has. If you’ve got any logging configured, then it’s unlikely to ever spin the disks down anyway.
