Server to run home assistant, Plex, and blue iris?

What server would be capable of successfully running a Plex server with multiple transcoding streams, a VM of home assistant, a VPN concentrator on home assistant, and an instance of blueiris with about 12 cameras? I thought maybe a cheap old server thats powerful enough to do it?

I don’t believe what you are asking for would work on an ‘old’ server really.

I have the three systems you have mentioned on three different computers.

HP ProLiant DL360 G7 running ESXI 6.7.0 Update 3 with HA and another small VM. 75% resources to HA.

Plex is on my Synology 920+ with no transcoding. Just streaming.

BI on an i5 12400F with a GTX 1070 running CodeProject.AI. A dozen cameras too.

None of the machines are maxed and I am certainly leaving resources unused. But, that is how I want it!

I also have a second i5 12400F with GTX 1070 for Willow (WIS and WAS). I tried these on the other i5 using WSL. But, WSL ate up 75% of the resources and killed both BI and WIS/WAS. So, I did a second setup.

Could I combine some/most of this. Yep. But, I like it as it is.

I’m running a HA VM and BlueIris on a refurbished Lenovo i5 I bought on Amazon. I have BI doing motion detection for 14 cameras but only one of them is using AI (because of a lot of cars on the road at the front). I think this system is just powerful enough for what I’m doing. I am considering upgrading to a refurbished i7. I would imagine adding Plex with transcoding on top would be too much.

Sure I have an i7 running Plex and blueiris, and the odroid n2+ running Plex, which works. But I was hoping there was something that would be capable of running it all so I can stop using multiple systems.
