Setting up Hikvision

Ok, I have tried to add in the Hikvision integration. It asks me to log in for my Hikvision system - obviously necessary.

I have put in the IP address (required) and confirmed from two separate sources this is right, I have confirmed the Port is correct, I have put in the correct username and password, I have tried both the SSL checked and unchecked. Each attempt I get failed to connect….

I have disabled my vpn in case that was the issue.

Any ideas?

I assume you have enabled ONVIF on the NVR?

I have had a look at my HikVision system and cannot see how to do that, the pdf I downloaded made no sense to me. I have concluded it’s way beyond my ability.

It’s usually under network settings. Google enabling ONVIF for you NVR model.

I wonder if the original poster has the same model NVR I do which is the DS-7108. I cannot find ONVIF on it either, not anywhere and I have checked every menu item. The only comment in the manual about ONVIF is that if you disable HTTP then services like ONVIF will not be available, but it doesn’t say that if you enable it, it’s available. Is there a way to check whether this is the issue, ie is there a log which shows the hikvision component trying to access the ONVIF URL and failing? I have checked and re-checked the user, permisisons etc, it has everything. I am now starting to feel that this DVR doesn’t actually support ONVIF. I’ve also mailed HIKVISION to ask them.

ok adding to the weirdness I created yet another user with exactly the same every permission as the ones I’ve been using and … that one was able to connect. I am now pretty baffled.
