Hello,
I bought a few Shelly 1 Mini Gen4 and can’t get them to work. Here’s what happens:
I power up the device and log in via its Web UI to configure the Wifi. As soon as that is done, the Shelly integration in Home Assistant discovers it and I only give it a proper name and confirm and am being redirected to the device’s page.
Here is where it gets weird: There are around 10 entities, but none of them is available. That is, I can’t operate the switch or reboot. Nevertheless, when I go to the Shelly’s web interface via its IP address, I can operate the switch and the “Activity” pane in Home Assistant will see that. Hence wifi connectivity is ok, and some connection exists between HA and the device. The log in HA simply states
2025-10-17 15:49:35.527 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.shelly] Error fetching shelly1minig4-XXXXX data: An error occurred while reconnecting to shelly1minig4-XXXXX
Things I have tried:
- rebooting HA and the Shelly
- deleting and adding it to HA multiple times
- resetting the Shelly to factory defaults
- updating the Shelly’s firmware from 1.5.99 to 1.7.1
- adding/removing outbound websocket (though I’m not sure if I have done that correctly)
I’ve found the exact same behaviour with two devices (out of my order of four).
Any ideas what might be going on?
Cheers,
Enno
