Shelly 1L lost encryption key

Hello

I have a Shelly 1L but it had some connection issues. So i decided to try Esphome.
I first installed Tasmota and from there installed Esphome using Home Assistant with the default config and enabled encryption.

Now the problem is i replaced the default config with this config. but now i can upload because i dont have the encryption key.

Normaly you would fix this by reflashing the firmware and i tried it. I solderd some wires to the bottom side connector (i don’t have jumpers small enough for the connector), i used an esp32 as a 3.3V power supply and a usb to ttl converter. But after 2 hours of trying nothing.

I also tried resetting it by holding the bottom reset button for 10 seconds but it didn’t seem to do anything.

So what are my options here?
Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

I don’t think the esp32 will be able to provide enough power to the chip. Use a dedicated power supply either 3.3v directly or via a step-down module to power it and then try flashing.

Hello

Thank you, I am now using a step down board to power it.

Now when try to run esptool --port COM14 erase_flash to connect to it. there is a small led that blinks 4 times repeatedly during connection. But it still wont connect.

Thanks

Have you tried connecting gpio0 to gnd when powering on?

Yes i tried to connect it to ground.

Here is a picture to hopefully clear it up a little.
