I’ve had a weird behaviour happen with a couple of Shelly Dimmer 2, which I cannot explain and would appreciate any insight.
I have several Shelly switches (Plus 1, Plus 2PM, Dimmer 2) that worked perfectly with the Shelly HomeAssistant integration.
Suddenly (after months one, weeks the second, but more or less both at the same time) they stop responding. Commands sent to switch on/off would not work (or be significantly delayed), but the hardware switch worked fine.
The devices were on the network, because they appeared connected to the router and manual switching would actually send the correct light status to HA. The web interface was also either unreachable or barely usable.
Power cycling (and then a factory reset) would help for a few minutes, but eventually the behaviour would return.
My network has a modem (with WiFi turned off) feeding two Asus mesh routers that provide the WiFi.
As a last ditch, as they were close to my modem, I created a second WiFi (2.4GHz only) network and they immediately started behaving well. They had the same IP, as the underlying network management is the same.
I’m at a loss what could be the reason. Also, why it only happened after some time. The only differences I can see is that the WiFi network has a different name and is 2.4 GHz only. Any ideas?
