Shelly Motion 2 not showing in HA

am trying to get a Shelly Motion 2 to show in home assistant. I have shelly integration running with some 50 devices.

I have enabled COIOT using the ip of Home assistant and port

192.168.20.34:5683

But nothing shows in HA.

Any ideas please ?

Ok I found the solution. Tha steps to connect the sensor to home assistant are:

  • enable COIOT on sensor (always using port 5683, not your home assistant instance port, if different)
  • reboot device
  • add Shelly integration in home assistant and enter sensor IP address

Iā€™m having similar issues. Iā€™ve set up COIOT from the shelly motion 2. But in Home Assitant when I try to add the device I just get a blank popup. This is different from the ā€˜not foundā€™ error you normally get, so Iā€™m getting somewhere, but any ideas?

I can see in the logs that some messages are getting sent from the device to HA, as can see some JSON with values in it.

Updated Home Assistant, and thats worked, it appeared automatically after that. So either the update or the reboot of HA solved it.

hi all so does shelly motion 2 work natively with HA? their docs say motion 1 does but motion 2 has no info.

do you have to use mqtt?

If I try to add the device using the ADD DEVICE button it just asked me to search for an integration .

I already have Shelly installed and have 64 devices running without issue.

How do I add a device by IP please? I am the original poster and have rebooted the devices and enabled COIOT on 5683 and rebooted HA .

HA says there is a new devise but there seems no way of seeing what that is nor adding it by IP address.

It is just a communication protocol. Donā€™t get the Shelly motion. The Aquara are cheaper and work!

i have problem of integrating shelly motion 2 to HA. I enabled COIOT with 192:ā€¦:5683, did a reboot of shelly device, HA integration failed after submitting the IP address of shelly motion 2ā€¦ its failing continuously, inspite of trying the above method of integration atleast 7 times !! ā€¦ getting same msg ā€¦ā€œfailed to connectā€!! ā€¦please help me ā€¦Thanks
